WHO IS GIFTY?
Oheneyere is the last of eight children and was born on the 23 of January 1970 in Tema, she obtained her basic Education at Tema Community School and her secondary education at Mfantsiman Girls. She then pursued her Diploma in journalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and later her Master’s Degree in London. She is married to the Chief of Akwamu Adumasa Nana Ansah Kwao IV of which they both have a child called Nyame Anuonyam.
HER CAREER
Dr. Gifty has impacted the lives of individuals in numerous ways, she started working with the media since 1995 at GBC where she developed herself and is now a staunch journalist who is the host of her own talk show “The Standpoint” which airs to date. Being an advocate for women’s rights and a renowned motivational speaker she has done herself a great deal by owning a media known as GDA Media, which further propagates her aspiration to liberate and assist women. She is also an author and the President and founder of Girl in Need Foundation (GiNF).

HER ACHIEVEMENTS
She has been greatly rewarded for her efforts made to impact society positively some of these awards or citations are from women’s choice awards, Ghana actors and Entertainers awards, creative Industry Women Honors and many others. Her own way of inspiring others to be the best of themselves is through the books she has authored such as “A bit of Me” series,”50 Nuggets”, “The Best of You” and others.

Gifty, during an interview, disclosed that according to her parents she wasn’t supposed to be born and that she was an accidental baby or pension baby and this is one of the qualities that makes her unique and stands out. She didn’t get the opportunity to study the course she wanted to which was Land Economy. She later went on to pursue public relations which for which she ended up being a journalist. Her controversial marriage and birth (married at the age of 45 and had her first child at 47) became the talk of the town which encouraged and inspired many people and they looked up to her .
