Akwasi Boadi, also known as Akrobeto is currently riding high on the Ghanaian comedy scene with his own show on Kwame Despite’s UTV channel. Akrobeto is also one of Ghana’s well-known actors and is regarded for his talent in the Ghanaian movie industry and among his colleagues in Kumawood.

The “‘Whonose’ tomorrow” comedian was recently interviewed on The Delay Show with Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay).
He mentioned during the interview that he obtained the name, Akrobeto, from his friend Nkomode, with whom he worked in his neophyte days as comedian and actor. The name gradually popularity and is now a household name.
Akrobeto has been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years, His acting career started with the Kristo Asafo Drama Group, which performed at the popular Keysoap concert party at the National Theatre, other drama productions and church programmes, among others.
He was born, Akwasi Boadi, on the 18th of November 1962, in the Eastern region, specifically, Akyim Oda Ayeribi.

He attended his basic and middle schools at Akyem Ayerebi Local Authority Primary/Middle Schools but ended his education in 1979 due to economic reasons. He then travelled outside the country to seek greener pastures but returned to Ghana after a few months to make a living in his motherland. It was then he took up acting as a profession with the Miracle Films; and as time went by he expanded his purview within the industry.
Among some of his Kumawood movies are ‘Boys abr3’ which featured the famous Nigerian actor Osita Ihem (Pawpaw); ‘Hwe wano Asem’; ‘Sika ye abrante’; ‘My 2 foolish uncles’; ‘Living with the beast; and Nipa etrimu ye sum and many others.
Akrobeto has taken his comic role to another level by joining hands with Dr. Osei kwame Despite’s media (UTV) to host an entertainment programme, ‘Real news’, where reads news in broken English because he is not well-versed in English and that is what makes his show interesting for viewers.
This programme has also granted him international recognition as a result of his mispronunciation of words and name of personalities such as footballers during interviews.
While pursuing his profession as an actor and a comedian, he also does television commercials in the local language to boost his income. .

‘Whonose tomorrow’ has done himself a great deal of good, which has given him deserving awards such as the Overall Entertainment Personality of the year at the recent Entertainment Achievement Awards and Overall Best Actor, besides others. He has three children and is currently married to Georgina Johnson.
