I think the e-levy is going to help the economy as being suggested but we need better clarifications. We really do not understand what they are saying with all those terms so a little breakdown would help stop all the talks about government trying to steal from us and all that. I support it 100 percent.

This e-levy thing is something. I have heard a lot of people say that they were not going to use mobile money again. This makes me apprehensive about losing my job from where I get a little to feed myself and my family. A little consideration from the government would be better for us the vendors. A lot is happening to us now.

We need the government to stop this robbery. Can this money (they are trying to extort from us) help the economy? I voted for this current government but they are disappointing us highly. We expect better things and development and not what they are doing. He should listen to our concerns because he is there because of us.

Ghanaians should be appreciative. We have enjoyed the free education, one district one factory, improvement of roads all in the past five years. A new source to improve the economy needs to come up so the economy can grow and be stable. People have to understand all this. It is sad till now, that no economist has come to break this down for all citizens to understand. We have to know better.

I do not even have to talk much. The economy is hard. Covid-19 caused a whole lot of havoc to our work and we lost a lot of money, which we are trying to recoup. How are we going to earn a living, if the government is taking e-levy? I strongly disagree with the payment.
Rose (Trader)
The government is not taking anyone’s money. Help the government grow the economy. We all want to see Ghana develop like the USA but have you thought of how they got there? Some of you go there and you pay those taxes you are refusing to pay here. Pay the money and stop the plenty talks. Ghana needs to grow.
Comfort (Seamstress)
As for me I do not understand the e-levy well. People are saying the government is trying to steal from us, others are also saying the government is going to use the money to build the economy and make developments. I just hope it is for the development they are talking about because Ghana is suffering.
John (mobile money vendor)
People have started withdrawing their money. You ask them and they tell you they cannot pay for the e-levy. It is even funny. A lot of explanation needs to be done to get the ordinary citizen like myself on board. Some of us do not even understand what is happening at all. They just heard the government is going to take money called ‘e-levy’ so they are complaining.
